Method & assumptions

Each year’s premium or employer expense = prior year × (1 + that year’s rate). Premium-basis scenarios apply the chosen employer share each year. Administration is added separately; cumulative spending sums annual totals.

Hypothetical worked example

$120,000 with two successive 10% increases becomes $132,000 and then $145,200. The first increase is $12,000, or $1,000 per month. Two-year spending is $277,200 before additional fees.

Scope and limitations

  • Population is held constant. Later-year rates are hypotheses, not renewal quotes.
  • Changing employer share requires premium-basis mode. Fixed-dollar contributions require a separate budget scenario.
